Angel- A Poem about Imagination, Reality and Mom-Child Relationship
63Angel
“It may be after a hundred years
It may be after a while
But certainly you will meet your angel”
My mother told me earlier.
I couldn’t even wait an hour
But I had to
My mother said
An Angel will come sooner or later.
The angel is with me
It’s my protection shield
According to what my mother said
But I couldn’t see.
The angel will come someday
With love and peace
With grace and bliss
It would take the sorrow away
My mother used to say.
Everyone may leave me
The Angel will not
The Angel will come
And fight my
enemy.
The angel can do everything
It will bring me the stars
It will play music in my ear
It will bring me all the wealth
It will take care of my health.
The Angel will come someday
My mother used to say.
When I am frightened
and lose my way
and drown in danger
The angel comes and ensures safety
My mother said
The angel was around me
But I couldn’t see.
Slowly I gained my confidence
I started to believe angel will save me from anything
It made my thoughts colorful
My dreams started to fly with wings.
Angel will come
My mother used to say
It will bring me all the good things.
I grew up slowly
I passed my school, college and university
There is nothing like an angel
Science taught me.
I could understand
What my mother said were childish fantasies.
Those were country legends or myths.
I am thirty four now
My mother is no more on the earth
She died before my first child’s birth.
Now I understand my angel has died
Those weren’t myths
She hadn’t lied.
My mother knew it all
The way I know now.
When my baby cries,
It seems like I will die
I say to my baby
don’t cry my piece of heart
you angel is around you
It will never let you fall apart.
Your angel will save you, in this angel earth.

Love this poem...a lovely tribute to your mother.. the striking note about your poems are they come from your heart.. keep writing Salaheen.... you will soon touch your world in your own way!
Saleheensblog I can see you have experienced the angels presence and I am so glad you are here to help us see our own angels.I would love to see more writings on angels in the future. You have picked a wonderful topic I know little about.
This is such a beautifully written piece of work. It is so graceful and full of emotion. Angels can be earthly and that is part of wisdom. Angels can be humans, Angels can be our unconditional pets, etc.. Thank you for gracing hubpages with this lovely piece of work.
Hi, what a beautiful poem, you really have a way with words, the Angels around us are the people in front of us, as in this case, your mother, lovely. cheers nell
This poem gave me the chills. Truly touching.
You got me man, I'm going to follow you.
Very good. It makes us realize how mortal we all are.
Saleheensblog,
This is a poetic way to put forth a spiritual postulate. What are ghosts, demons, and angels? Some may say they are wishful hallucinations from too much electromagnetic interference. Others say ghosts are lost souls, while demons and angels are the original, soul-creatures God created. Then there are middle-of-the-road, compatibilist conjectures like yours that put forth the idea that we—people—encompass these ideas. We are angels, when we act selfless. We are demons, when we lust for greed. We are ghosts, when we dissociate from our humanity.
Thanks for sharing this,
Dan
I envy your creativity! Genius!!
