About Me,

I am Shifa Saleheen. Shifa means to serve and Saleheen means honest, servant of truth, devoted to human welfare and so on. My nick name is Shuvo that means good, pretty, blessing and so frth. And you know I am what my name is. I am friendly, honest, curious and a patriot. I am a writer in heart. I write poems, stories and many other interesting staffs. I hope you will read some of my hubs and enjoy the read.

I am from the beautiful country of Bangladesh and I am a proud Bangladeshi. We have the longest natural sea beach (775 Km.) and the largest mangrove forest Sundarban here. In a land area of 1,47,570 square kilometer we have almost 16 hundred million poor, suffering, hungry but hospitable, religious and brave people.

We have the history of struggle for establishing our mother tongue and achieving freedom. In the year of 1952 we had to raise our voice and sacrifice many lives to Establish Bangla as our mother tongue. The erstwhile brutal West Pakistani oppressors tried to impose Urdu as our mother language even though all the East Pakistani people used to speak Bangla. Our brave people didn’t let it happen and protested against the anarchy. Many a people sacrificed their lives in 21 February, 1952 and made the Pakistani authority bound to declare Bangla as our mother language. It was only the start of our struggle. West Pakistan oppressed us for 25 years. Finally in 1971 we achieved our freedom after a nine month long blood-shedding Liberation War. 26 March, 1971 we declared ourselves as an independent and sovereign nation and the new name of our country is Bangladesh. In the liberation war we had to sacrifice 3 million lives. 2,00,000 women were raped and thousands of children were killed brutally. We didn’t have a military or civil defense force still our brave countrymen managed to win the war in 16 December, 1971. Now 16 December is our victory day. Just before a couple of day of our victory in 14 December the brutal Pakistani oppressors listed all our intellectuals and killed them bringing them out of their home so that our nation becomes brainless. After the Liberation War was finished 90,000 Pakistani military were arrested but our nation declared a general apology!! Pakistan has never cared to beg their apology to Bangladesh to date for their heinous torture over Bangladeshi people. Earlier the Pakistani ruling we were depressed by British Colonial ruling for 200 years. And they totally had broken down the socio-economic backbone of the Indian sub-continent. Still today we suffer the long lasting result of those inhuman ruling. Whatever, past is past and we have to go ahead to prove again once we were the most prosperous and dynamic community of the world. They only thing still make us feel deprived that those two country Pakistan and England never apologized for what they did with us!!

Bangladesh is a reverie green country. People here are very hospitable and kind. The country is overly populated and most of the people live under poverty line. We have a poor rate of educated people and we have hardly any entrance to modern technology. Brain drain is another problem. Every year plenty of highly talented students and researchers go abroad for higher education and better facilities for research work and never come back. Our politicians are highly corrupted as a result the whole nation is lagging behind. Our selfish and greedy politicians don’t care about the common people as a result terrorism and corruption as spread around everywhere. But at the end of the day our general people are peace loving, religious and brave. We have to suffer from tidal surge, cyclone, and devastating flood almost every year. Still we stand tall again and hope for a better next day.

We are a nation of numerous cultures and plenty of festivals. Our language day 21 February is the International Mother Language Day and Bangla is the International Mother Language Now. But the irony of fate is that the western culture is destroying our culture day by day. Our new generation neither knows our history nor respects our culture. I want to do something for my nation. I am small and alone but I am strong and confident. I have my pen and papers to raise my voice. And I am a writer in heart. I dream a prosperous, happy and proud Bangladesh. One day my dream will come true, I believe it in heart, no matter I stay alive or not that day.

I love kids. I can pass my whole day even my whole life with kids. I love flowers, hanging with friends, poetry, listening to songs, watching movie, writing and so forth. I have a wish to make movie someday. Overall I am full of dream and I am proud of each of my dreams.
